Food Accompaniment with Wine: The wine that you choose should compliment with the food that you are having. White wines go better with lighter foods like grilled chicken or salads. Big Reds complements steaks or heavy red sauces and lighter fruitier reds go with anything else.
Type of Wine Preferred: There may be a lot of choices in the wines but primarily decide on the red versus white. This automatically eliminates half the list. You can also ask your partner his or her choice and preference. If one is dining with a group, then ordering both Red and White wine could be the preferred choice.
Budget: Before ordering the wine, be very sure about the amount of money you want to spend on the wine. Many a times the house wines are frequently over priced and also are not usually of the best values. You can give a cue to the waiter by asking him to get a bottle of wine ranging till a certain amount. This will tell him the limit of your budget.
