Table Etiquettes – Reflection of Diner’s Personality
|
Table manners reflect the personality and upbringing of the diner. It is one of the things which is significant for both the host and the guest. It applies to the dinner which you are planning to have at one of the romantic restaurants in the city.
Sitting Posture: Slouching or leaning back in the chair shows disinterest and indifference. Do not ever take this sitting posture while out on a date with your romantic partner.
Talking While Eating: Do not talk while you have food in your mouth. It is absolutely unpalatable for the other person. Have a relatively small bite which will help you in keeping up the conversation too.
No Slurping: Have food quietly without making a slurping noise. It is not only unappetizing but also a distraction to the other diners.
Leisurely Pace of Eating: This is one of the basic rules to be followed while dining out with your romantic partner. Eating quickly shows that you are much more interested in food rather the person sitting across the table.
Don’t Wave Cutlery in the Air: Avoid hand movements in the air if you are holding a spoon or fork filled with food. This may lead the food to fly across to your partner or knocking out the wine goblet or a glass of water. Such actions either show your over-excitedness or your nervousness which in both cases is quite a mood dampener.
No Elbows on the Table: Elbows can take up table space and pose inconvenience for the other diners on either side of you. There is also a danger of the glasses being knocked down.
Please & Thank You: Do not forget to say Thank You and Please, especially when the table courtesies really matter. It throws a good impression on the dining partner. |
